Ministry Fair

Like a job fair…but for ministry!

Ministry Opportunities

Children’s Ministry: Church folk love to say that children are the future of the church. And for good reason: it’s true! So if that’s the case, we need to be investing in our kids at MPCC. To that end, we need volunteers willing to help with things like Bible classes, providing a staffed nursery during worship, coordinating teen activities, and more.

Facilities & Grounds Ministry: We consider this property to be an important resource which MPCC is responsible for stewarding well. The building itself is host to several faith and community groups besides our own congregation, the Food Bank brings more weekly traffic to these grounds than anything else, and the small house next-door holds great potential for helping those in need. But as you may know, facilities and grounds require maintenance, and we need volunteers who are willing and able to help with upkeep.

Food Ministries: Food is at the center of so much we do at MPCC. Whether it’s potluck lunches, coffee & donuts during fellowship time, community meals on the lawn, or special events, gathering around food is important to us. To make this all happen, we need folks who love food and are willing to coordinate the cooking/provision, set-up, and cleanup of the various meals we share together.

Food Bank Ministry: Our onsite food pantry is a distribution location for the Utah Food Bank and gives out enough food weekly to feed about 1200 people on average. A lot of work goes into that, from receiving and storing food on Wednesdays to handing it all out on Thursdays, and then doing it all again the next week! Ask anyone who regularly volunteers there: we always need more workers.

Hospitality Ministry: Every small church thinks of itself as friendly and inviting, but at MPCC we want to put a little more effort into being intentionally hospitable. This can take a lot of shapes, but one immediate area of need is the formation of a greeting team. For this, we need people to be in charge of welcoming visitors, making sure they fill out an information card, and following up with them later in the week to invite them back. This ministry of hospitality can go far beyond a greeting team, also, so share any ideas you might have for it!

Prayer Ministry: We encourage all members of MPCC to pray, but imagine what it would look like to have a team of pray-ers specifically devoted to praying for every prayer request and every member by name, weekly!

Worship & Event Planning Ministry: You may not realize it, but it takes a LOT of planning to make a church go round. On a weekly basis, every worship service is planned by somebody. All the events you love (think 4th of July cookout, or the old Pig Roast) require no small amount of planning. We need a team of good planners to oversee all the planning that goes on here, from weekly worship, to one-off events like cookouts, to brainstorming and planning more things to do together as a church community.
